Disclosing Cassette (2015)
This project explores the use of an outdated analog technology as a medium for confidential communication in a time where privacy in digital communication is almost absent. It does so by applying the concept behind quantum encryption methods to a cassette tape.
The tape is equipped with an analog tone generator that marks the tape with a noise upon playback, hereby irreversibly affecting the original message. This reveals that the tape has been listened to before, warning the listener that its confidentiality has been compromised.
